Anaphylaxis, extra information, reporting form for CARM

Anaphylaxis is a serious adverse event following immunisation and the CARM medical assessors are assessing all potential anaphylaxis reports against the Brighton Collaboration case definition for anaphylaxis to determine whether a reaction constitutes anaphylaxis. For this assessment detailed information needs to be collected at the time of the event or immediately after. Medsafe and the COVID-19 Vaccine and Immunisation Programme are reporting anaphylaxis for COVID-19 vaccines according to the Brighton Level meet.

At the site if a suspected anaphylaxis event occurs, the event would be managed accordingly and details completed within the COVID Immunisation Register (CIR) as per current process. If the reporter selects the anaphylaxis tick box they should then complete the paper copy of the anaphylaxis tabular checklist and scan and upload this via Dropbox to the Centre for Adverse Reactions Monitoring (CARM).
